Notes From Rebecca:

September 26: The excitement continues with having two of my photographs accepted into the 2008 Hubbard Museum's Fall American Photography Exhibition. The show will be open from September 26 thru December 26, 2008. The show features depictions of western life and natural settings. I can't wait to go and see them and all the other great works by others.

September 5 How exciting that I received an Honorable Mention in the NM State Fair/Expo NM Professional Photography Show. Second year in a row. This year's awarded entry was a photograph of the wild looking horses on a merry-go-round at last year's fair. It is vibrant with color and action. The horses look like they are ready to run off is a wild race with the wind. This first print is available for sale at the fair, and I will soon have more at the Albuq Photographers Gallery in Old Town.

August 1, I have joined the Albuquerque Photographers Gallery in Old Town Albuquerque. This is a co-op gallery with 11 photographic artists. I am so excited to be part of this very talented group. When you visit you will get to meet one of the artists, as well as, view the wonderful displays of all artists. My regular display consists of several framed peices and many matted peices all for sale. For my cards, just go around the corner to Margaret Moses Gallery.

July 5-6 at Santa Fe, open air Art Show: Thank you to all who braved the rain clouds to visit our show. The mornings were beautiful, but the late afternoons were wet. We loved meeting everyone and are fascinated by how far people come from to visit our state and the city different. For those of you who saw a picture you liked but did not want to travel with it, please email me and if the picture is still available (or I can recreate it) arrangements can be made to ship it to you.

June 14-15 at Ruidoso, NM Wine Festival: I enjoyed meeting all of the folks that came by my tent. It was nice to hear that distinct talking accent of that part of NM and Texas; it reminded me of my times growing up in West Texas. It was HOT for Ruidoso mountain areas. I hope you all get lots of rain soon. The Inn of the Mountain Gods is a beautiful casino. I had time before we left to visit the Mescalero Apache Misson stone church building and the Three Rivers Petroglyphs. Can't wait to show you some of those pictures.

Quote - I could not have said it better:

" I fell in love with photography when I begged and got my first camera at age 7.
I love the way it freezes a happy, an incredible moment - never to be repeated the exact same way. Seeing something through the lens and honing that one particular thought and image - the inside of a flower, the crystal of ice on a branch, the velvety softness of a rose petals, my son in the air at an intense action scene at lacrosse or football, smiles or interesting faces of people, my daughter on theatre stage, a bride or groom with 'the look of love on a wedding day,' undisturbed snow and shadows, trees budding in the spring, fall, catching expressions unaware.
I love to shoot zoom - what incredible awe when looking through the photos. "
